These products consist of many finely cut pieces, positioned in spaced layers inside a box frame, giving a real 3D perspective. The intricately cut details are brought to life with real depth, as you would view the original scene.
History & Process:
These products are a modified style of "papertole". Traditional papertole normally uses multiple copies of each layer, and is typically made with artwork on paper or card stock. Often, fragile layers such as foliage are also rolled/curved by hand.
However, "PaperTole by KC" uses true photographic images on photo paper, with backgrounds extended behind foreground items, and all layers being flat. The delicately cut details of the photo paper are reinforced, which can then be glued to each other, and often displayed well above background items.
For the most recently developed products (Phar Lap, Black Caviar, & the Super Hornet), various photos have been taken to show the construction phase, and show the detail and depth of the layers prior to the complete installation in the box frames. All products are provided fully framed, with modern products containing water-white (ultra clear) framing glass.
